About the method



Currently, none of the manufactured scanning electron microscopes do not allow measure the size of nanostructure in directions not lying in the plane of projection. But even in the plane projections transition from the object image to true size of the object is a complex and not always solvable problem. Consequently, none of the modern SEM is not suitable for monitoring nanoregions, where the properties depend on the size of the object in the directions and cut (habit). It is the solution to the problem of determining the true size of the object in directions, and his habit directed the proposed solution. An article “New Approach to Metrology in Nanotechnology” uploaded. Published in Technical Physics Letters (Pis’ma v Zhurnal Tekhnicheskoі Fiziki), 2010, Vol. 36, No. 20, pp. 21–28. Notions of a fractional method of control in nanotechnology are presented and a key stage of the method is described that is related to determining the shape and dimensions of nanoobjects based on their scanning electron microscopy images obtained at various convergence angles of the electron probe.

The problem of measurement in the nanotechnology industry – a key at this time. This task involved many scientific teams worldwide. But an adequate idea of ​​a solution of the characterization of large arrays of nanoscale objects is not currently offered.

A lot of scientific teams try to find a way to solve the problem. Fragmentation and lack of adequate ideas leads to the loss of time and slows down development in this direction.

We proposed the way to solves this problem. OUr approach is theoretically verified. And we starting it’s implementation.
